Residents are advised not to consume water or run laundry if the water has a color to it, otherwise, it's safe to drink if the water runs clear.
If the water does have a color to it, residents can run cold water at the lowest level of their home until the water appears clear.
Authorities say as long as the water is not brown or yellow, it can be consumed.
As of now, there is no boil water alert.
Crews are on the scene and are working to fix the breaks. Police say it could take up to 24 hours or more to repair due to the numerous breaks.
The water main breaks are due to a power surge.
