Royal Oak woman's killer sentenced to life in prison

Victim's mother speaks to man who killed her daughter

ROYAL OAK, Mich. – Sentencing is perhaps the most emotional moment of any murder case, as the victims' loved ones have a chance to speak directly to the killer.

On Wednesday, the mother of a Royal Oak woman whose life was cut short nearly a year ago spoke directly to the man who killed her daughter.

Theresa Diamos, 50, was shot and killed inside her home last October. She lived with her boyfriend David Davis, who is a convicted felon.

Diamos' mother said Theresa loved Davis anyway, and refused to judge him on his criminal past.

Davis initially told police an intruder broke into their home in Royal Oak. Police found no evidence of that, and Davis was arrested and eventually convicted.

Davis was sentenced to life in prison for Daimos' murder.

Before leaving, Diamos' mother said she took some comfort in knowing that Davis would be locked up for life.
