It's unclear if the squirrel was working alone, or was indeed part of a coordinated squirrel effort.

WOODTV reports the outage happened just before 11 a.m. on Thursday.

Consumers Energy estimates the power could be restored later this afternoon.

The squirrel has not been charged with any wrong-doing, but a spokesquirrel is expected to release a statement later today.

Earlier this year, squirrels ruined a perfectly good Easter Egg hunt in Oak Park.

They've also been spotted trespassing on private property in Livonia:
