WARREN, Mich. – The U.S. Army TACOM Life Cycle Management Command in Warren has a new, female, leader.
A formal changing of command ceremony was held Wednesday at the Detroit Arsenal as Maj. Gen Gwen Bingham succeeded Maj. Gen. Michael J. Terry as commanding general.

Bingham previously served as commanding general, U.S. Army White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico. She has served at every level from company through theater support command, and held a wide variety of important staff positions.
Terry had served as TACOM commanding general since June 2012. He will retire after 35 years of distinguished service, during an Aug. 15 ceremony hosted by the 13th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) at Ft. Hood, Texas.
The TACOM LCMC integrates Army acquisition, logistics, and technology responsibilities, authorities, and processes to enable a closer relationship among all its partner organizations that develop, acquire, and sustain the capabilities provided by ground and soldier systems around the world.
Their mission is to provide and sustain mobility, lethality, and survivability for soldiers, other services, and our allies through ground combat, automotive, marine and armaments technologies.
With a workforce of over 19,000 worldwide, TACOM supports over 2,000 fielded systems and over 34,000 components that make those systems work.
