Teen shot during confrontation over Air Jordans in southwest Detroit

Police search for 3 people involved; teen listed in stable condition

DETROIT – A 17-year-old boy was shot in southwest Detroit Saturday by a trio of youths who stole his shoes, police said.

It happened around 4:45 p.m. Saturday in the 5200 block of Elmer Street, north of I-94.

Police told Local 4 News that the victim was shot and then his Air Jordans were stolen. The shoes were later recovered a few blocks away from where the shooting happened.

The victim was rushed to a hospital. Police said he was listed in stable condition.

Police are now looking for three teenagers who were involved, ages 13 to 18.
