Beginning on the 11th floor, The Griswold residential units will have unobstructed views of downtown Detroit, according to a news release. The one, two and three-bedroom apartments will average 916 square feet and feature 9-foot-high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows and balconies on several units. When completed, The Griswold would be the first new-construction apartment project to be built in the Central Business District since the third tower of Riverfront West was completed in 1992.

"We are grateful to the DDA Board and to George Jackson and the entire DEGC team for their continued vision and persistence in seeing this important project through." said Roxbury Principal David Di Rita in a news release following DDA approval. "We see the Griswold as an critical component of the larger redevelopment of the West District and builds on the current momentum in Capitol Park."

NOTES: The Roxbury Group was the developer of The Auburn to Midtown Detroit, which opened in November 2012 with 58 residential units and 9,100 square feet of retail. The company is currently redeveloping the historic David Whitney Building, in Downtown Grand Circus Park, which when completed this fall will include a 136-room Aloft hotel and 105 apartments with first floor restaurants and retail. The Roxbury Group is also nearing completion on the redevelopment of the Globe Trading Company building on Detroit's East Riverfront which will house the State of Michigan Department of Natural Resources Outdoor Activity Center and is scheduled to open this summer.
