DETROIT – The search is on to find the thieves who broke into a Detroit woman’s home and stole her two dogs.
Kim Johnson is in disbelief after someone broke into her home on Detroit’s side and left with valuable electronics.
She was alerted by her alarm company that something was not right at her home. When she arrived, she found her door had been completely kicked in.
The most important thing missing, Johnson said, is her two dogs Shadow and Boston, who were either stolen by the thieves or wandered away after the break-in.
“Some people just look at them like, ‘oh they’re just dogs,’ but when you’re taking care of them like children, they’re not just dogs,” Johnson said.
Johnson said she has since added a new lock on her door and she’s hoping it keeps the crooks out.
