Video shows chaotic shooting scene at Bar 7 in Southfield; 4 people shot

1 man in critical condition after shooting; 2 people arrested

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – Cellphone video from a Southfield bar patron captured a chaotic shooting scene early Saturday morning.

Police said four people were shot Saturday morning at Bar 7 on 12 Mile Road near Telegraph Road. Video from inside the bar captured the moments leading up to the shooting. The footage appears to show a group of people in some sort of physical altercation near the door. Then gunshots can be heard as patrons take cover.

Southfield police said officers were called to Bar 7 at about 12:44 a.m. on the report of shots fired. Police said they found three people suffering gunshot wounds to their chests. A fourth person had been shot in the arm. Two victims were found at Bar 7 while the other two were across the street. 

Police said the shooting stemmed from an altercation between two groups at the bar. Someone pulled out a handgun and began shooting. 

2 arrested, including one who was shot

Two people were arrested, including one of the people who was shot, police said. 

Among the victims was a 23-year-old Detroit man who suffered a gunshot wound to his chest. He is in critical condition at a hospital. Two 37-year-old Detroit men also were shot in the chest but they are listed in stable condition at a hospital. Police said they are conscious and alert. 

A 30-year-old Detroit man who was shot in his forearm was arrested, police said. 

A Bar 7 representative told Local 4 and ClickOnDetroit the shooting did happen inside the bar. He said the bar is open on Saturday.

The bar is located near the corner of 12 Mile and Telegraph Roads.
