Wayne State officer killed remembered at Lions game

Detroit Lions paid tribute to Officer Collin Rose before Thursday's game

DETROIT – A Wayne State University police officer who died after being shot was honored at the Detroit Lions game Thursday.

Officer Collin Rose and his K-9 partner, Wolverine, were a member of the Ford Field Explosives Detection Team, Local 4 News has learned.

The Lions paid a tribute to Rose before Thursday's game.

"We now ask you to observe a moment of silence in honor of Officer Collin Rose," the stadium announcer said at the game.

Rose's partners at the stadium were on the field for the tribute.

Police said Rose was stopping someone on a bicycle when he was shot once in his head. Rose was investigating car break-ins in Detroit's Woodbridge neighborhood.
