It's been a bit of a bumpy ride for the University of Michigan and Aubrey Solomon, but the five-star defensive tackle from Leesburg, Georgia, announced his commitment to Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines on National Signing Day.

Solomon initially committed to Michigan on June 18, but decommitted on Aug. 22 when the Wolverines apparently sent him a thank-you card for an event that he hadn't attended.

After decommitting, Solomon made official visits to Michigan, Alabama and USC. He narrowed his decision down to Michigan, Alabama and Georgia before Wednesday.

Solomon is the second five-star recruit in Michigan's 2017 class, joining the No. 1 player in Michigan: WR Donovan Peoples-Jones.

Solomon is ranked the No. 25 overall player in the country, and the No. 2 defensive tackle, according to 247 Sports. Solomon is the No. 3 player from Georgia.

Michigan now has 28 players committed to its 2017 recruiting class, including eight defensive linemen: Solomon, Corey Malone-Hatcher, Donovan Jeter, Luiji Vilain, James Hudson, Deron Irving-Bey, Phillip Paea and Kwity Paye.

Solomon, a U.S. Army All-American, had scholarship offers from 13 schools, including Ohio State and Penn State in the Big Ten.

The Wolverines have the No. 4 class in the country behind Alabama, Ohio State and Georgia, signing two five-stars, 18 four-stars and eight three-stars.
