The Michigan Wolverines moved up to No. 2 in both the AP Poll and the Coaches Poll Sunday after its 41-8 win over Illinois this weekend.
Michigan is ranked behind No. 1 Alabama in the poll. The Wolverines jumped rival Ohio State in both polls after the Buckeyes were upset by Penn State Saturday night. Ohio State was favored by nearly 20 points in the game and fell to No. 8 in the Coaches Poll and No. 6 in the AP Poll with the loss.

In the Coaches Poll, Michigan also jumped No. 3 Clemson, which had a bye week.
This is the highest ranking of the season for Michigan in the polls. It is now the highest ranked team in the Big Ten for the first time in over a decade. Sunday marks the first time Michigan has been ranked No. 2 in a major poll since it was No. 2 heading into the final game of the season in 2006.
Michigan has wins over two teams ranked in the Coaches Poll: No. 11 Wisconsin and No. 23 Colorado. Michigan also has a win over Penn State, which is officially No. 27 in the poll.
