VIDEOS: Take virtual tour of Red Wings' Little Caesars Arena

DETROIT – Detroit Red Wings fans: Here is your chance to get a virtual tour of the team's new Little Caesars Arena.

The arena is under construction right now, but these videos released by Olympia Entertainment show what different sections of the venue will look like.

If you have access to an Oculus Rift, now is a good time to use it. These videos will take you on a virtual tour of each area of the rink.

Each of the eight videos below will show you a different section of the arena including the West Club, East Club, Players Club, East Sideline Club, West Sideline Club, Gondola view and a nice view from center ice.

This space was created after the organization decided to pull non-essential operations out of the arena.

“So our box office, team store, front offices, those will all now come in these outer buildings,” said Molly Wurdack of Olympia Entertainment, pointing to the outer buildings with a brick façade. "In some places (the concourse is) almost three times as wide as the Joe Louis Arena concourse experience."

The technology is being used for season ticket holders, to immerse them in the experience and give them a better idea of what the arena looks like, and what the view from their seats will be.

There’s also extensive virtual walkthroughs in the club seating areas, like the Player’s Club, where the Red Wings and the visiting team will walk through before and after each period.

“We’ve had season ticket holders come in here who couldn’t conceptualize what the club experience, so now they can really see what the space was all about.”

The Red Wings are the first NHL franchise to offer such a virtual tour of an arena. The team also is one of the first to offer such in all of sports.

“We wanted to make sure we had an opportunity to bring to life this new space.”

Wurdack added that one of the benefits to being one of the last new arenas in the league, is they can learn from others and then improve upon it.

For instance, there will be a mobile app to use while at Little Caesars Arena.

“It’s going to help fans get from their home to their seat, with the best directions, best available parking spots, quickest entrances into the building, the shortest concession and restroom lines. It’s going to make the fan experience even better.”
