DETROIT – Veteran righthanded pitcher Mike Pelfrey has been released by the Detroit Tigers.

The Tigers now have 28 players at the major league camp.

Pelfrey, 33, was picked up by Detroit in 2015. He started 22 games for the Tigers last season earning 4 wins, 10 losses, a 5.07 ERA and 1.7 WHIP.
The Tigers home opener is April 7 at Comerica Park.
