DETROIT – The Detroit Red Wings will begin the 2016 preseason Tuesday night when they host the Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins at Joe Louis Arena.

There will be a few newcomers in coach Jeff Blashill's lineup after the Red Wings picked up forwards Frans Nielsen, Thomas Vanek and Steve Ott in free agency. Meanwhile, there will be a lot familiar faces back on the blueline for Detroit.

Here are the current injuries the team is dealing with:

Detroit finished this past season 3rd place in the Atlantic Division, then bowed out in the first round of the playoffs against the Tampa Bay Lightning, 4 games to 1. It was the second-straight season in which Tampa knocked out the Red Wings in the first round.
