DETROIT – WDIV-Local 4 continues its ratings dominance with first place finishes in key newscasts at 4 p.m., 5 p.m., 6 p.m., and 11 p.m. Additionally, the station is No. 1 in afternoon programming, access (7-8 p.m.), primetime and late night programming in the May Nielsen ratings for Detroit (4/27/17 – 5/24/17).
WDIV Local 4’s first place newscast finishes include:
- Local 4 News First at 4 p.m. is No. 1 in the time period with a 4.0 household rating/11 share beating both The Now Detroit (WXYZ 4 p.m.) (2.2 RTG/6 SHR) and Judge Judy (4 p.m. WJBK) (2.8 RTG/8 SHR).
- Local 4 News at 5 p.m. continues its six-year winning streak and is No. 1 in the time period across all demographics with a 5.3 household rating/13 share, beating both WXYZ (3.7 HH RTG/9 SHR) and WJBK (3.8 HH RTG/9 SHR).
- Local 4 News at 6 p.m. won in every key demographic - securing its place as Detroit’s undisputed No. 1 newscast across the board. Local 4’s 6 p.m. news is continually No. 1 in household ratings, garnering a 6.9 rating/15 share compared to WXYZ (5.2 RTG/11 SHR) and WJBK (3.2 RTG/7 SHR).
- Local 4 News at 11 p.m. is Detroit’s No. 1 Late News and beat WJBK’s 10 p.m. News with a 5.6 HH RTG/12 share (compared to WXYZ 4.4 RTG/9 SHR, WJBK 10pm 4.6 RTG/8 HH SHR and WJBK 11 p.m., M-F, 3.7 RTG/8 SHR).
Local 4 News Today (M-F 6-7 a.m.), anchored by Rhonda Walker, Evrod Cassimy, Jason Carr, Brandon Roux and Kim DeGiulio, experienced increases in ratings and share over last May 2016, up 13% in HH RTG and 18% in SHR.
In other day parts, WDIV’s Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! are No. 1 in the all-important access time period of 7-8 p.m., averaging a 6.9 HH RTG/14 SHR and winning in every key demographic. In primetime, WDIV/NBC is at the top in first place (4.0 HH RTG/7 SHR) beating WXYZ/ABC (3.9 HH RTG/7 SHR), WJBK/FOX (3.0 HH RTG/5 SHR) and WWJ/CBS (3.8 HH RTG/7 SHR).
