A man was shot and killed Tuesday morning in front of a house on Detroit’s east side.

A body was pulled from a submerged car Thursday after someone in an aircraft reported seeing a vehicle at the bottom of the St. Clair River.

Eastbound I-94 was shut down Tuesday at Conner Street in Detroit when a semi truck rolled over onto its side.

DETROIT – A 52-year-old pedestrian was killed Sunday when a collision caused one of the vehicles to strike him. Police said he was standing on the corner of Gratiot Avenue and Conner Street when two vehicles collided in the intersection at about 8:40 p.m. It is unknown which of the two vehicles struck the pedestrian on the corner. The pedestrian was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. DETROIT – Police officers shot and killed a man Tuesday morning who opened fire on the Detroit Police Department’s 5th Precinct. DETROIT – All lanes on eastbound I-94 near Conner Street have been reopened Tuesday afternoon after being closed for a police investigation Tuesday morning. Michigan State Police were investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 11:35 a.m. Monday on eastbound I-94 and Barrett Avenue in Detroit. Police said preliminary investigation revealed that a husband and wife were on the right shoulder changing a flat tire. The driver swerved and drove up the right embankment and struck the couple changing their tire. Police said a blood draw was completed on the pickup driver and his vehicle was impounded.

DETROIT – Detroit police are looking for a missing 15-year-old named Andrew Tucker. He was last seen around noon Tuesday, Sept. 15 at his home in the 17300 block of Rutherford in Detroit. The uncle left the home and when he returned Tucker was gone. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, gray sweatshirt and khaki pants. Anyone with information on the missing teen is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-Speak-Up.

DETROIT – According to authorities, 14-year-old Deshila Pinkston returned home safely Friday night, just before 11 p.m.Police said Pinkston left home after getting frustrated with homework. She was last spotted walking east toward a vacant lot on Algoquin Street. The teen was wearing a black and white striped shirt with red roses on it, blue jeans, black Nike gym shoes and carrying a cheetah print bag when she disappeared. The calls for action come just days after an 8-year-old girl was killed by a speeding car on Conner Street. Residents said they see drivers speeding down the street everyday and want the city to do something before another child is killed. She was only 16 years old, flying up the street, doing like 80 (miles per hour) up the street,” Hill said. “We need speed bumps and we’ve been needing speed bumps for years,” Hill said. This year alone we are installing more than 1200 speed cushions at 800 locations and are evaluating this stretch of Conner for possible speed cushions in the near future.

DETROIT – A tragedy involved an 8-year-old girl, who was walking on the sidewalk with her mother when a car hit and killed her. Owens is replaying the horrific details of a crash that killed 8-year-old Lauren Johnson Sunday afternoon at about 3:40 p.m. on Conner Street. “She (the driver) was coming from the corner, she almost hit my niece at the corner, came flying. “People fly up and down this street with no regards to life,” said Denice Hinson, who also witnessed the incident. You took an 8-year-old life and nobody can bring that baby back.

DETROIT – A massive wave of road construction in Metro Detroit is far from over -- it’s time to redo I-94. Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) officially has the go ahead to rebuild both directions of I-94 from Conner Street to I-96. Construction is expected to get underway in 2023. DETROIT – Police are looking for three people wanted in connection to an carjacking early Sunday morning. According to authorities, it happened at about 3:30 a.m. at a gas station in the 11800 block of Conner Street. Police said a three people approached a 20-year-old man who was pumping gas and demanded his 2011 Dodge Charger at gunpoint. Police said one suspect entered the Dodge and drove south on Conner Street and the other two suspects followed in a 2017 silver Chevrolet Impala. One of the suspect entered the victim’s vehicle and fled south on Conner with the remaining two suspects following in a silver 2017 Chevy Impala.

According to authorities, just before 6 a.m., a 25-year-old man was physically assaulted by two unknown people at a gas station in the 8800 block of Livernois Avenue. Police describe one of the suspects as a Black man, 6 feet, 3 inches tall and weighing about 240 pounds. Police described the other suspect as a Black man, 6 feet tall and having a medium build. DETROIT The 19-year old was last seen on June 21st and his family began their own search to bring him home. The family tells Local 4 they found him dead at an abandoned home on Elmdale Street, near Conner Street and Harper Avenue on Detroits Eastside.
