Search underway for gunman who opened fire on off-duty Taylor police officer
DETROIT A search is underway for a gunman who opened fire on an off-duty Taylor police officer on I-94 in Detroit on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.Michigan State Police said shots were fired at the off-duty police officers car on the eastbound lanes. Video: Police take assault suspect into custody after brief police pursuit in Taylor
TAYLOR, Mich. Michigan State Police troopers and officers with the Taylor Police Department took a man into custody Thursday morning after a police pursuit. According to authorities, MSP troopers were notified of a domestic assault that occurred in front of Taylor Police officers on I-94. Police said there were two young children in the vehicle at the time who were transported to a hospital as a precaution. MSP will submit a request for the fleeing and elude, resist and obstruct and child endangerment through the prosecutors office. The domestic assault portion of the investigation will be handled by Taylor Police Department.

However, the woman who led the protest said other drivers were going around the protesters and the driver didnt appear to be scared -- she said she came right at them. Black Lives Matter protest interrupted in Taylor when woman drives through crowd
TAYLOR, Mich. Black Lives Matter protesters were standing in a street in Taylor when a driver approached them, stopped, and then drove through the crowd and ran over a bicycle. Activist Ethan Ketner caught the incident during an Instagram Live video and shared it to his Facebook page. Some protesters were still in the crosswalk when the driver slowed, and stopped directly in front of a protester who was on a bicycle. In the video clip you can see a protester grab onto the drivers car from the back passenger side. The driver then speeds forward, running over the bicycle -- the protester previously on the bicycle appears to have moved.

Taylor police investigate new lead in cold case murder of single mother
TAYLOR, Mich. - Chelsea Small's murder was brutal and unprovoked, but her family and the Taylor Police Department have not given up hope. On Nov. 12, 2013, Small was a single mother who was working at the Advance America check-cashing shop in Taylor. It first seemed like a robbery, but the man shot Small twice. The man shot Small within seconds of entering the building before walking behind the counter and shooting her again.
