Woman dead after semi-truck's payload crushes vehicle on SB US-23 south of Dundee

Southbound lanes of US-23 closed

SUMMERFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A middle-aged woman from Sylvania, Ohio, was killed Monday when a semi-truck’s payload fell from the trailer and crushed a vehicle in the southbound lanes of US-23 in Summerfield Township, police said.

All southbound lanes of US-23 are closed at Ida West Road, which is near mile marker 13.

One person was flown to a nearby hospital in critical condition, according to health officials.

The crash happened between Ida West Road and Summerfield Road.

It is unclear when the southbound lanes will reopen.
