DETROIT – The western Michigan city of Benton Harbor is under a winter storm warning until Tuesday morning.
The city is welcoming the new year with a snowstorm that has winds gusting up to 35 miles per hour.

By the time the storm subsides, the Benton Harbor area could have 8 to 15 inches of snow on the ground.
Metro Detroit's forecast for Monday night and Tuesday calls for some flurries and light snow. The chance of snow Monday night is 30 percent.
