Metro Detroit weather: Bright and wonderful Wednesday on tap

Most of the weekend looks dry and pleasant

DETROIT

It’s cool, but not as cool this morning with temps mainly in the mid and upper 40s and a few slightly cooler suburbs. A bright and wonderful Wednesday all across SE Lower Michigan and Southern Ontario keeping the skies clear and sunny as highs hit 70 degrees again. The winds will be picking up again this afternoon SW 10-20 mph gusting 20-30 mph at times blowing the leaves up and down the streets and warming us up.

We’re in the midst of an ideal Fall set up with sunshine sticking around for a while and well above average temperatures. Mornings are cool, there’s no way of avoiding the 40s the next few mornings. The highs quickly warm into the upper 60s and low 70s under mostly sunny skies Thursday and Friday. A weak and dry cool front passes overhead late tomorrow, so Friday may be a degree or three cooler, but still warm and gorgeous.

Most of the weekend looks dry and pleasant making for a great chance to hit up the local orchards and cider mills, or whatever you have planned. Look for low 70s Saturday and only slightly cooler Sunday. That’s because clouds increase around Metro Detroit as we head into the afternoon hours Sunday. We have a good chance for showers and scattered thunderstorms around or just after dinner time Sunday lasting into the early hours of Monday. Cooler weather next week and we should see a few rain light chances then as well.  Track sky conditions and our next rain chances with our Local4Casters app.
