Metro Detroit weather: Clouds break, temps drop Thursday night

Lows in the 20s

DETROIT – Thursday night remains dry, but gets colder. Friday will be chilly. Saturday gets milder, but wet weather returns for, at least, the first half of the weekend.

Thursday evening will be mostly cloudy and chilly with temperatures in the upper 30s. Remember to bundle up before going out to dinner. Wind chills are near freezing.

Thursday night temps fall below freezing after midnight. Overnight lows will be near 30 degrees in Detroit under partly cloudy skies. Other neighborhoods will have temps in the middle and upper 20s by dawn. Pets and potted plants need to be brought indoors.

Friday will be partly sunny in the morning with filtered sunshine in the afternoon. It will be chillier than average, again, but students can enjoy outdoor recess. Afternoon temps reach the middle 40s.

A warm front brings higher temps Saturday but quite a bit of rain, too. Moderate and heavy showers are possible Saturday morning. Rain becomes more scattered Saturday afternoon. Highs will be in the low and middle 50s.

A cold front brings lower temps Sunday. It will feel like winter with morning lows in the 20s and daytime highs only near 35 degrees; 10-15 degrees lower than average.

Skies remain partly to mostly sunny much of Thanksgiving Week. Highs will be in the middle and upper 40s Monday and Tuesday.

Travel Day, Wednesday, will be breezy with sunshine in Southeast Michigan. Highs in the upper 30s.

Thanksgiving Thursday will be cold in the morning for America's Thanksgiving Parade goers and volunteers. Temps start in the middle and upper 20s. Afternoon highs during the Lions game will be in the low and middle 40s. Skies will be partly to mostly sunny.
