Metro Detroit weather forecast: Foggy Friday start, tracking 80s for the weekend

DETROITPatchy dense fog again Friday morning with Metro Detroit temps in the low and mid 50s in the suburbs, and upper 50s to near 60 degrees closer to Downtown Detroit.

The fog should burn off by 10 a.m. leading to some hazy sunshine late morning and mostly sunny skies into the afternoon. Highs will take aim at 80 degrees, although the model data suggests upper 70s for most of us. With enough sunshine this afternoon, 80 degrees looks pretty reasonable later today with light winds SSE 5-10 mph.

Saturday forecast

Saturday may start with a little haze and fog as lows dip into the upper 50s under mostly clear skies. But the surface fog will lift quickly and the sun will dominate the weekend bringing highs into the low 80s around Metro Detroit Saturday afternoon. Winds again are light SSE 5-10 mph making for some great late summer boating.

Sunday forecast

Sunday morning is the JDRF One Walk along the Detroit River, starting in Milliken State Park at 8:30 a.m. and the weather will be great. Light fog or haze to clear skies and temps in the low 60s early. With more sunshine to start, temps will be warming quickly in the low 80s, and then a chance for showers after dinner into Sunday evening. You can expect some showers and isolated thunder into early Monday.
