Easter Weekend sure was a nice one! We didn’t set any daily records, but Saturday’s high of 83 degrees (28 degrees Celsius) and Sunday’s high of 75 degrees (24 degrees Celsius) didn’t feel like the temperatures we’re usually accustomed to on Easter Weekend. Somebody tweeted me asking me when the last time was that we had an EASTER this warm, and that’s a tough one to answer because Easter falls on a different day every year…I’d have to first look up all of those past Easter dates, and then check what happened on those exact dates. Suffice it to say, it was ONE OF the warmest Easter Weekends on record, but keep in mind that those highs temps, while not a record on April 15th and 16th, might have been records on earlier occurring Easter Weekends.
Things have now settled down much closer to average. Any scattered, light showers to the far north will end this evening, and skies should then become mostly clear for all of us. Lows in the low 40s (5 degrees Celsius). Northeast wind at 3 to 6 mph.

Mostly sunny on Tuesday, with highs inland away from the Great Lakes in the mid to upper 60s (20 degrees Celsius). An east wind at 8 to 13 mph will keep those of you near the lakes much, much cooler. As an example, temperatures this afternoon near Lake Huron were around 45 degrees (7 degrees Celsius), but 68 degrees (20 degrees Celsius) by the time you went westward to Brighton!
Tuesday’s sunrise is at 6:47 a.m., and Tuesday’s sunset is at 8:18 p.m.
Mostly cloudy on Wednesday, with thunderstorms developing. I’m not exactly certain about the timing yet, and will try to fine tune this tomorrow. Highs in the low to mid 70s (23 degrees Celsius). NOTE: This is Michigan Severe Weather Awareness Week, and Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. is our annual statewide tornado drill. Most communities’ sirens will sound, and your weather radio should, too. However, if thunderstorms are expected around the time of the drill, then it will be postponed. I am part of the Michigan Committee for Severe Weather Awareness, which coordinated this. The decision to postpone or not will be made Tuesday afternoon by the National Weather Service and the Michigan Association of Broadcasters. I should be able to let you know in Tuesday’s weather article the status of Wednesday’s drill.
Showers and thunderstorms are possible Wednesday night, with very mild lows in the mid 50s (13 degrees Celsius).
We have yet another chance of showers and thunderstorms on Thursday, with highs in the upper 60s (20 degrees Celsius).
Rain should end late Thursday night, with lows in the low 40s (5 degrees Celsius).
Partly cloudy, breezy and cooler on Friday, with highs in the mid 50s (13 degrees Celsius).
At this point, Saturday looks like the best of the two weekend days. Expect mostly sunny skies, and highs near 60 degrees (15-16 degrees Celsius).
Depending upon how far north a developing storm system tracks on Sunday, it appears that we have a chance of showers, and a breezy day, with highs in the mid 50s (13 degrees Celsius).
