Metro Detroit weather: Temperatures drop, light rain arrives

Temperatures turn seasonably cool this weekend

DETROIT – Forget about warm, humid and stormy for a while. The next several days won't resemble summer whatsoever.

On Friday night, clouds will exit. We'll be mainly clear, and temperatures will be seasonably cool, dropping to either side of 60 degrees.

On Saturday we will start bright, but clouds will form by the afternoon. That will lead to a few light sprinkles in the afternoon. Highs will only reach the mid- to upper 70s.

Temperatures will continue cooling into Sunday. Again, expect plenty of sun in the morning and clouds in the afternoon with a slightly better chance of showers. They'll still be scattered, so not everyone will get wet. Highs will be in the low 70s.

A shower can't be ruled out for the Ford Fireworks on Monday, but most of the day should be partly cloudy and cool, with highs struggling to hit 70 degrees.

Numbers will start moving the other way on Tuesday. Find out how long it takes to get back to normal in our 10-day forecast.
