Metro Detroit weather forecast: Near record lows

DETROIT – Near record lows this morning with teens to low 20s feeling like low teens to single digits with a little morning breeze. If we dip to 19 degrees or cooler at Metro Airport, we set a new record low.

Woohoo! We are watching another record today -- the record low high. The coolest high temperature ever recorded on Nov. 10 in Detroit is 28 degrees. We will be close but do expect highs to hit 30 degrees or a little warmer with a few flurries in the morning, then mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies. The wind will have a bite coming from the NNW 5-12 mph gusting to 20 mph, so bundle up and grab the shades.

Any wet weather this weekend?

It will hold off for your Veteran’s Day Saturday, although we could see another record low temp in the morning. Lows in the teens to low 20s, and only partly sunny skies in the afternoon. Clouds will be filling in and highs will be in the upper 30s to low 40s with a lighter wind SSE 5-10 mph.

Expect Sunday morning snow showers through 9 or 10 a.m. No accumulation is expected but we may see a dusting on trees and grassy surfaces. Then, a light wintry mix in the late morning with drying conditions into the afternoon. Highs will only hit the low 40s as the breezes will pick up making it feel colder. Dry weather expected Monday and Tuesday with warming temps that will be in the 50 degree range. More wet weather Wednesday -- stay tuned.
