Potential record-setting temps return Wednesday

Highs in the lows 70s

DETROIT – It was a record setting Tuesday in Detroit breaking a record and we could do it again today.

Morning lows are cooling down into the low and mid 40s with patchy fog. But the hazy sun will break through by 9 or 10 a.m., and highs will soar quickly into the mid 70s this afternoon. The record high for today is 75° and it will be a close call. Expect mostly sunny skies and light winds SE/SW 5-10 mph.

More patchy fog tomorrow morning as high and mid level clouds begin to fill our skies Thursday across SE Michigan and Southern Ontario. So, lows tomorrow under cloud cover will stay in the mid to upper 50s. Highs will stay near 70 degrees Thursday even with the clouds. Those clouds will look like they want to drizzle on you tomorrow but we will stay mostly dry.

Friday is transition day with rain. A cold front will come sweeping through in the afternoon. Before the front cools us off, rain showers will be with us starting early morning and into the early afternoon. Highs should hang in the mid or upper 60s during the rain and then it cools off quickly. Highs this weekend will struggle to break 50 degrees with morning lows in the 30s.
