WAYNE, Mich. – The city of Wayne was one of the hardest hit areas Thursday night when storms moved through southeast Michigan.
The video above shows a fallen live power line burning on a neighborhood street. Trees were uprooted and branches wrecked vehicles. No injuries have been reported.
Michigan Avenue is closed near Newburgh Road due to a power line across the road.

What to do if you see downed power lines
You should stay at least 20 feet away from all power lines and anything the lines are in contact with, and consider them live, DTE officials said. Every downed power line should be treated as if it were energized.
DTE officials said customers should also heed the warning of yellow caution tape, which indicates there is a downed power line in the area. Customers are advised to not cross yellow caution tape.
Customers can report an outage, check the status of an outage and view an outage map on their smartphones by using the DTE Energy Mobile app. Customers can also call DTE Energy at 800-477-4747 to report power outages or downed lines. Customers can also use the website at dteenergy.com.
