DETROIT – Much of southeast Michigan will be under an Air Quality Alert for Tuesday.
High pressure will keep our atmosphere warm, more humid and stable. That will lead to ozone formation near the ground. If you have breathing issues, keep your outdoor activity to a minimum.
Otherwise, Monday night will be pleasant and near normal for mid July. Skies will be mostly clear with lows in the low 60s.
Tuesday weather forecast
Heat builds Tuesday to highs in the mid 80s. Skies will be mostly sunny with light winds. Humidity rises, although it won’t be as bad as the ridiculous levels from last week. Tuesday's also our last completely rain-free day in this week's forecast.
Wednesday forecast
Chances of thunderstorms return Wednesday afternoon. Highs will reach the upper 80s, with heat index readings in the low 90s.
The rest of the work week looks nearly identical. Temperatures get slightly cooler over the weekend, but thunderstorm chances stick around.
Dry conditions return for the start of next week.
