Ann Arbor area nonprofits to consider on Giving Tuesday

#GivingTuesday is an annual fundraising day every Tuesday after Thanksgiving

ANN ARBOR – As #GivingTuesday approaches, Ann Arbor-based nonprofits are ramping up their campaigns for one of the biggest fundraising days of the year.

The idea of Giving Tuesday is to exercise your philanthropy muscles and give back to the community following Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

For #GivingTuesday, the Y is holding a special campaign to support its relief efforts in Haiti. 

"The Y’s cause is to strengthen communities. Since 2009, Ann Arbor Y staff and volunteers have worked with our colleagues at the Haiti YMCA to develop sustainable programs in one of the world’s poorest countries by providing operational, programmatic and philanthropic support. The Ann Arbor Y helps develop and implement strategic plans, provides technical training to program staff, and mobilizes philanthropic initiatives which build capacity for the Haiti Y. With ten community centers located throughout Haiti, the YMCA serves over 5,000 children and young adults. Please help support these efforts on #GivingTuesday!"
