ANN ARBOR – Arbor Hospice’s 10th annual Savor the Journey fundraiser will return to the Big House on May 19.

Held at the Jack Roth Stadium Club, the event will kick off at 6 p.m. and will feature a keynote address by journalist and best-selling author Mitch Albom.

Albom will share his experience of navigating his adopted daughter Chika’s last stage after a lengthy journey to find a cure for her illness.

All attendees will receive a copy of “Finding Chika,” Albom’s best-selling book.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the nonprofit’s Open Access Program, which serves Washtenaw County and beyond. The program helps Arbor Hospice serve patience in unique situations regardless of their diagnosis, age or ability to pay.

The evening fundraiser will feature a strolling dinner with vegetarian and vegan options, desserts and an open bar.

Guests will later be able to tour the Michigan Football locker room and take to the field via the iconic tunnel just like the players do in the fall. Attendees are encouraged to bring cameras and football gear to help create memories on the field.

Tickets are $125 per person and include a complementary valet service.

They can be purchased at www.arborhospice.org/stj.

Since 2011, Arbor Hospice has raised more than $1.4 million through Savor the Journey. These funds helped the organization serve more than 1,600 patients in 2021 in Washtenaw County and beyond.
