ANN ARBOR – Most people watch HBO’s “Hard Knocks” for the fly-on-the-wall perspective into the day-to-day operations and experiences of professional football teams.
But viewers got more than that on Tuesday’s season premiere featuring the Detroit Lions when Michigan football alum Aidan Hutchinson led the team in a surprisingly-not-bad rendition of Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean.”

In the clip, the rookie is seen snapping his fingers, shuffling along and singing as his teammates look on. At first, you’re thinking, “Where is this going?”
Then the heads start bobbing, the claps get louder, he pulls a fast dance move before the chorus and the whole team goes nuts.
It was pure entertainment gold.

Woodward Sports Network tweeted, ”This will be the National Anthem of Detroit if Aidan Hutchinson brings a Super Bowl here! #HardKnocks.”
Let’s hope it comes to that.
