ANN ARBOR – IHN at Alpha House is holding its third annual Driving Home Food Truck benefit on its grounds on Sept. 22 from 4-7 p.m.

Proceeds from the event and a separate online auction will benefit the short-term shelter, which helps local families connect to resources and gain their footing before being permanently housed.

The silent auction will kick off at noon on Sept. 12 and will end at 9 p.m. on Sept. 22.

Food trucks Bao Boys, PizzaPazza and Hallboy BBQ will be providing meals at this year’s event. Meals are $35 each and can be purchased online here. Orders must be placed by Sept. 12.

Limited seating will be available for those who wish to enjoy their meals on the house grounds. Tours will also be provided to those interested in seeing how the shelter operates.

“Last year, IHN at Alpha House provided shelter for 34 families with children and provided supportive services for 75 additional families in the community,” reads a release. “Of these families, 72 secured permanent housing.”

Alpha House officials reported that Washtenaw County’s Human Services Partnership will no longer provide support to the shelter and said this year’s benefit is more critical than ever to keep its services running.

Alpha House is located at 4290 Jackson Road.
