These kid-friendly places are open in Ann Arbor on President’s Day

ANN ARBOR – It’s President’s Day on Monday and that means no school for Ann Arbor Public Schools.

If you are taking the day to be with your little (or big) kids, here’s a list of places that are open so you don’t have to sit at home all day.

University of Michigan Museum of Natural History

The museum is free and open to the public from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

There, your little explorers can take in the educational exhibits, participate in a science lab or catch a show under the stars at the planetarium.

Buhr Park Ice Arena

Not only is the outdoor ice rink open on President’s Day, it’s having a special event.

The annual Buhr Blitz skating event will take place from noon-2 p.m. and will feature skating, fun and games on the ice, hot chocolate and s’mores. Skate rentals will be available for $3.

Admission rates:

  • Adult resident: $5
  • Nonresident: $6
  • Youth (17 & under) and senior (60+): $4
  • Nonresident youth and senior: $5

Domino’s Farms Petting Farm

This beloved local nonprofit will be open with many animals to see -- and feed.

Tip: Carrot sticks are available to purchase at the front desk for those who want to experience the animals up close.

Admission:

  • $6 per person (ages 2 and under are free)
  • Seniors (60+): $5.50 per person
  • Discounts available for military, first responders and groups
