ANN ARBOR, Mich. – University of Michigan president Santa J. Ono addressed vandalism at two off-campus fraternity houses.

Ono said the vandalism has been reported to Ann Arbor Police and took place at currently vacant fraternity houses where students will be living in the fall.

The vandalism included broken windows and spray-painted messages that Ono described as “vile, homophobic, and antisemitic.”

“These types of incidents are in direct conflict with the university’s deeply held values of respect and inclusion and have no place within our campus community or in the broader Ann Arbor community,” Ono said in a statement.
