ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Washtenaw Community College (WCC) is the best of its kind in Michigan, according to new rankings from Niche.com and Intelligent.com.

The two educational review sites recently released independent lists naming top community colleges across the Mitten State, putting the Ann Arbor college in first place.

WCC has more than 20,000 students enrolled every year. Located on East Huron River Drive, it offers more than 130 degree and certificate programs. In-district students only pay $99 per credit hour for tuition, some of the lowest costs in the state.

Both Niche and Intelligent looked several factors to determine their rankings. For Niche’s “2024 Best Community Colleges in Michigan” list, these included student reviews, data from the U.S. Department of Education, campus safety, diversity and financial value.

Data from other ranking sites, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and the National Center of Education Statistics’ College Navigator, among others., was used for Intelligent’s “Best Community Colleges in Michigan of 2024″ list. It also looked at academic quality, resources for students and affordability.

Other highly-ranked community colleges to appear on both lists include Gogebic Community College, Kalamazoo Valley Community College, Delta College and Lansing Community College.
