Here’s which Washtenaw County organizations are giving away free holiday meals to those in need

YPSILANTI, Mich. – The holiday season is hard for those already restricted to a tight budget or experiencing homelessness, but organizations around Washtenaw County are making sure everyone has a warm holiday meal.

Residents can find no-cost Christmas and New Year’s meals at several different locations this year. Learn more here.

Here’s where meals are being offered:

Dec. 23 | Women and Men Working For Change | 100 Market Pl., Ypsilanti

The nonprofit will host its annual Christmas party at the Ypsilanti Freighthouse between 4-7 p.m. The free event will include a meal, desserts, music and live painting. Those in need of transportation can be picked up and dropped off at three different locations. Find more information here.

Dec. 24 | Food Gatherers Community Kitchen | 312 W. Huron St., Ann Arbor

Dinner will be served at the nonprofit’s community kitchen located in the Robert J. Delonis Center in downtown Ann Arbor from 3-4 p.m. The Delonis Center offerings services and support to those experiencing homelessness and acts as a nighttime warming center.

Dec. 24 & 25 | Hope Clinic | 518 Harriet St., Ypsilanti

Free grab-and-go meals will be passed out between 5-6 p.m. on both days at the nonprofit. The faith-based clinic offers free medical and dental care, behavioral health and food to community members in need. Services include hot meals, laundromat access, vision screenings and grocery assistance.

Dec. 25 | Food Gatherers Community Kitchen | 312 W. Huron St., Ann Arbor

Dinner will be served at the nonprofit’s community kitchen located in the Robert J. Delonis Center in downtown Ann Arbor from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Dec. 25 | UMHS-Trinity Health Chelsea Hospital | 775 S. Main St., Chelsea

The hospital will have a free Christmas meal between 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Registration is required and can be done by calling the Chelsea Senior Center at 734-475-9242.

Dec. 31 | Food Gatherers Community Kitchen | 312 W. Huron St., Ann Arbor

Dinner will be served at the nonprofit’s community kitchen located in the Robert J. Delonis Center in downtown Ann Arbor from 3-4 p.m.

Dec. 31 & Jan. 1 | Hope Clinic | 518 Harriet St., Ypsilanti

Free grab-and-go meals will be passed out between 5-6 p.m. on both days at the nonprofit.

Jan. 1 | Food Gatherers Community Kitchen | 312 W. Huron St., Ann Arbor

Dinner will be served at the nonprofit’s community kitchen located in the Robert J. Delonis Center in downtown Ann Arbor from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
