PHOTOS: Santa visits NICU babies at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Santa and Mrs. Claus returned to University of Michigan Health C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital this week to visit the hospital’s littlest patients.

Parents and babies spending their first holiday season in the Brandon Newborn Intensive Care Unit were visited by the festive duo who posed for photos and delivered gifts.

Young patients at the hospital have had a busy holiday season. Ann Arbor teen Harper Mathis, with help from the Ann Arbor Police Department, brought thousands of toys to the hospital to make sure other patients were able to celebrate. Mathis was diagnosed with a rare brain cancer in 2020 and decided to start the annual toy drive.

On Dc. 11, a DTE crew and truck rigged with bright lights stopped by the Ronald McDonald House next to the hospital to spread cheer. They were joined by McDonald’s famous purple monster, Grimace, and DTE’s Louie the Lightning Bug for hot coco and s’mores.
