ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Join community members, creatives and officials in celebrating 200 years of Tree Town at the Michigan Theater.
The city will host a birthday party to kick off Ann Arbor’s bicentennial year from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 19.

Journalist and author John U. Bacon will lead the festivities, which include a performance by local musician and poet Aaron Dworkin.
Tickets cost $50 and can be bought online. Ticket sales will support Bicentennial Park and the James L. Crawford Elks Lodge.
Participants will see the unveiling of a special bicentennial tile by Motawi Tileworks. There will be live music by DJ Myint and the Community High School jazz band, a silent auction of work by local artist Asha Jordan, hors d’oeuvres and drinks.
The event is coordinated by the City of Ann Arbor, Destination Ann Arbor and Michigan Theater.
