Metro Detroiters prep for Michigan Wolverines title game in Houston

Championship kickoff is 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 8

Michigan Wolverines fans and faithful are reliving the team’s Rose Bowl win every way they can.

The M Den store on State Street in Ann Arbor had a steady stream of visitors on Wednesday, Jan. 3 looking to buy gear commemorating Monday’s win and next Monday’s matchup against the Washington Huskies.

“Hats are sold out, but we have more t-shirts coming in,” said Leo Gabaron.

The M Den is expecting shipments on Thursday and Friday.

Matthew White went from Pasadena to the M Den to pick up his apparel.

“We wanted to get some Rose Bowl merch to rep the team in Houston,” said White.

White and his friends are members of the University of Michigan Marching Band.

“I think I’m going to remember that day for the rest of my life,” said Zachary Schaefer, who hopes to see the Wolverines win the championship.

Fans who aren’t traveling to Houston for the game are already planning where they’ll watch the game.

The Emagine Theatre in Royal Oak says the phone has been ringing off the hook with fans looking to watch the big game on their big screen.

“It’s pretty full, we’ve actually opened up additional theatres,” said GM, Tim Queen.

In their Sports Lounge theatre, you can order food and drinks and have them delivered to you at your seat.

You also get more than one screen, so you can see the game play out at different camera angles below the main screen.

Tickets are $20. Emagine Theatres across southeast Michigan will be playing the game for fans, so check in with them to see their availability.
