ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Applicants to a newly-launched grant program by Trinity Health Ann Arbor and Trinity Health Livingston can win up to $100,000 over two years.

The hospital systems are looking to support organizations that promote healthcare among what hospital officials call “vulnerable populations.”

Projects must operate within Washtenaw or Livingston countries and address community needs identified in Trinity’s Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) Program. These include mental health, housing, access to healthcare and services, transportation and food security.

“Trinity Health Michigan is excited once again to partner with organizations that support our mission to be a compassionate and transforming healing presence within the communities we serve,” said Shekinah Singletery, Director of Community Health and Well-Being, in a release. “If your organization is working to address the outlined priority health needs in the community, I encourage you to review our grant eligibility requirements and apply, if appropriate.”

Community needs are identified in a CHNA assessment every three years, which helps the hospital system decide the best way to support community health.

Grant recipients can receive up to $50,000 per year for two years. Projects are eligible for funds if grant monies are used to increase healthcare access, advance community knowledge of mental and physical health or enhance the overall health of the surrounding population. Organizations need to be community-based, faith-based or a local governmental entity like a school district or housing agency.

Priority will be given to organizations supporting communities in Livingston County or in the 48197 or 48198 zip code areas.

Applications are due March 4.
