Ann Arbor Community Academy takes participants behind the scenes of city government

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Curious about what it takes to keep a city running smoothly? Ann Arbor Community Academy classes are for you.

Tree Town residents can register to attend free talks that delve into behind-the-scene machinations of city government and services.

The annual Ann Arbor Community Academy will have weekly Zoom meetings from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Wednesdays throughout April and May. Small group, in-person tours will happen on some Tuesdays. Registrants need to be 18 years or older.

Those interested can submit the sign-up form by Wednesday, March 20. Sign up here.

“City staff hopes participants will be motivated to play a more active role in shaping the future of Ann Arbor after participating in the A2CA. Many graduates from this program have gone on to serve the community by participating in City Council, Municipal Water System Advisory Council, City Planning Commission, Ann Arbor Public Art Commission, or working as an election inspector,” officials said in a release.
