ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Roads were expected to be closed in a neighborhood near Downtown Ann Arbor on Monday following a house explosion.
At around 5 a.m. on Feb. 19, a house exploded on South 7th Street near Princeton Avenue along the border of Ann Arbor’s Eberwhite and Old West Side neighborhoods. The house was completely destroyed in the explosion that triggered a massive fire.
One person was hospitalized from the explosion for “non life-threatening injuries,” Ann Arbor police report. No other injuries were reported as of Monday morning.
Police and firefighters could be seen at the scene early Monday. Authorities did not say what caused the explosion.
The explosion also reportedly caused windows in at least one nearby home to blow out, as well.
Drivers should expect street closures in the area, officials said, though it was not specified which roads would be closed.
No other details were provided at the time of this writing.
