Ann Arbor Fire Department officials said hydraulic extrication tools, known as Jaws of Life, were used to remove the man pinned inside the car. He was taken to the University of Michigan hospital with “significant injuries.”

Two women, both age 19, were also in the car during the accident. Officials said one of the women was driving the car, an electric Porsche AG Taycan, when the accident happened. They were both taken by Huron Valley Ambulance to a local emergency room.

Ann Arbor Police Department officials are still investigating the crash but said both alcohol and speed are believed to be factors.

Photos from the scene show the front of the car ripped apart and missing wheels. A wheel from the car smashed the windshield of a parked vehicle nearby.

Plymouth Road near Murfin Avenue was closed for several hours Saturday morning as debris was cleared from the area.
