Video captures drunken driver cartwheel EV between parked cars in Ann Arbor

Speed, alcohol believed to be factors

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Surveillance video captured a dramatic rollover crash in Ann Arbor that hospitalized three people.

The crash happened on Plymouth Road, near Broadway Street on Saturday, March 16, at about 4 a.m.

A 20-year-old man was hospitalized with critical injuries, but he is expected to survive. According to authorities, the man borrowed an electric Porsche from his friend and met up with two women. Police said one of the women was driving at the time.

All three were hospitalized. The two 19-year-old women suffered minor injuries.

Police believe the Porsche was going at least 100 mph at the time of the crash.

Surveillance video from the scene shows the Porsche rollover between two parked cars before stopping in a business parking lot. It can be watched in the video player above.

A wheel from the Porsche came off and smashed the windshield of a parked car nearby.

Ann Arbor Police Department officials are still investigating the crash but said both alcohol and speed are believed to be factors.
