ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Tree Town has done it again! The Michigan city has been named on Niche’s “Best Cities to Live in America,” list for 2024.
The personal finance website put Ann Arbor in the ninth spot and is one of two Midwest cities in the top 10.

Although it has slid in the rankings -- it was THE best city in 2018 -- Ann Arbor’s eclectic personality, college town vibes, football weekends and year-round events have kept it on the list.
What’s the methodology?
Niche looked at data from cities across the nation assigning them grades in categories including housing, diversity, jobs, walkability, weather and cost of living. Data used comes from public reviews, the FBI, the U.S. Census Bureau, NOAA, the CDC and the Department of Education, among others.
