Here’s which downtown Ann Arbor roads will be closed for special events this week

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Five special events are slated to take place in downtown Tree Town resulting in several road closures over the course of the next seven days.

Drivers planning to cut through the area during their commute should anticipate detours or finding new routes.

Closures range from one hour to nearly the whole day.

Here are which roads to avoid:

Wednesday, April 3 | 8:30-9:30 p.m.

The annual Take Back the Night/Standing Tough Against Rape rally and march will close:

  • State Street between William and Madison streets
  • Madison Street from State Street to Thompson Street
  • Thompson Street between Madison and William streets
  • William Street from Thompson Street to Fourth Avenue
  • Fourth Avenue between William and E. Liberty streets
  • E. Liberty Street from Fourth Avenue to Maynard Street
  • Maynard Street between E. Liberty and William streets
  • William Street between Maynard and State streets

Friday, April 5 | noon to midnight

Friday’s Fool Moon event and luminary parades will close:

  • Main Street between Liberty Street and Huron Street
  • Washington Street between Main and Ashley streets
  • Main Street between William and Washington streets
  • Liberty Street between Ashley Street and Fourth Avenue

Saturday, April 6 | 8 a.m.-8 p.m.

The Monroe Street Fair from 4-5 p.m. will close:

  • Monroe Street between Tappan Avenue and State Street
  • Tappan Avenue from Monroe Street to South University Avenue

Sunday, April 7 | noon to 6 p.m.

  • The FestiFools Parade will close Main Street between William and Washington streets.

Monday, April 8 | 2-4 p.m., 

  • An Eclipse Watch Party will close down Library Lane between Fifth Avenue and the parking structure entrance.
