“CareYaya identified a significant gap in digital literacy among older adults. Our research, conducted in collaboration with Johns Hopkins and the NIH [National Institute of Health], revealed that education is one of the most cost-effective and impactful means of improving the lives of older adults, “ said CareYaya communications officer Roxy Garrity.
Garrity added that thousands of survey takers showed interest in learning more about technology but said they didn’t have access to necessary instruction.
Students from the University of Michigan will be on hand to help participants use virtual reality activities, Chat GPT therapy and artificial intelligence.
The event is free and open to the public.
Ann Arbor Senior Center is at 1320 Baldwin Ave.
