DETROIT – Michigan Wolverines national champion Blake Corum was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams at No. 83 in the third round of the NFL draft on Friday.
Corum was the bell cow for the 15-0 Wolverines during the 2023 season, as everything literally ran through him.
The 5′8″ senior running back toted the rock 258 times to amass 1,245 yards on the ground. He scored 27 touchdowns, with his longest run of the season amounting to 59 yards.
Corum is difficult to tackle on the field due to his stocky stature and fantastic speed. He can also get downhill quickly.
Embodying the spirit of a true Michigan man, Corum is a testament to team orientation and an enthusiasm that is unknown to mankind, as former head coach Jim Harbaugh would attest.
Corum’s numerous remarkable runs are a testament to his skill, but the most unforgettable was the go-ahead touchdown in the Rose Bowl. This pivotal moment propelled the Wolverines to the national championship, culminating in an unprecedented undefeated 15-0 season, a first in the program’s history.
Corum was named the College Football National Championship Offensive Player of the Game after the Wolverines’ 34-13 thrashing of the Washington Huskies. This victory sealed Team 144′s perfect season at 15-0, a first in program history.
Corum finished his Wolverines career ranked No. 7 on the all-time rushing list at Michigan (3,737 yards) and is the program’s career record-holder in rushing touchdowns (58), total touchdowns (61), and career points scored (356) to name a few.
