ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Families can expect Ann Arbor’s annual Jaycee’s Fourth of July parade to take place downtown this year, organizers said.

The free, yearly event draws thousands of spectators to Tree Town, but was celebrated at the Briarwood Mall in 2023 as a festival due to heavy construction in the downtown area.

This July, floats, bands and parade participants will weave along a route starting at the William St. and State St. intersection and ending at Thompson Street.

“Community members, government leaders, representatives, and government appointees lead and participate in the parade. In addition, community groups, clowns, bands, and children march in the parade. A grand marshal is selected and they will lead the parade after the beginning banner,” reads the Ann Arbor Jaycees’ website.

Here are the details:

Time: 10 a.m.

Route: Starts at E. William St. and S. State St., north on State Street, west on Liberty Street, south on Main Street, east on William Street and ends south on Thompson.

The parade will happen after the end of the annual Firecracker 5K.
