ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Five designs are in the running to be turned into the City of Ann Arbor’s next flag.

Back in September 2023, the city put out a call asking local creatives to come up with a design celebrating the city’s 200 years of history, its present and its future.

Tree Town residents have until Friday, June 28 to vote for their favorites.

Mayor Christopher Taylor and a group of judges will take a look at which designs garnered the most support as they consider which design to choose.

To make it to the final round, designs needed to simple, having meaningful symbolism, use up to three basic color, be very distinct and not have any lettering or seals.

Officials said the winning flag will fly over Larcom City Hall, at 301 E. Huron St., and other city buidlings. The winning artist will receive $500.

Residents can see the designs online or in person at Larcom City Hall.
